Introduction to Kathakali by Professional Artists

The IKS Club, Ānvīkṣikī, in collaboration with The Cultural Committee, IIST, presents a Kathakali Workshop, followed by the premiere performance of Sathyabhama Parinayam. This new aattakatha (story-play) has been authored by our own Dr. Jinesh, Head of the Department of Physics, IIST. The performance will be led by the renowned artist Kalamandalam Saseendran Nair and his esteemed team. Kathakali, the vibrant dance-drama of Kerala, brings mythological tales to life through expressive gestures (mudras), evocative music, and colourful, intricate artistry. Recognized globally for its grandeur and depth, it remains one of Bharat’s proudest cultural treasures.
