Laser and Spectral survey on the coast of Muttom for Mineralogical exploration

This one-day workshop, successfully co-hosted by the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Kerala Chapter, and the IEEE Kerala Section GSAC, was held on November 5, 2025. This field event provided crucial awareness of the geological significance of the Red Teri Sands of Muttom, Kanyakumari, with a demonstration of field data collection for mineralogy: showing how Spectroradiometry is used to collect precise spectral signatures and how Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) is used to capture high-resolution 3D geometry of the dynamic terrain.
