Participants were introduced to various calligraphic styles, learned fundamental techniques for using specialised pens and ink, and practised classic strokes and letterforms. The workshop was a unique opportunity for participants to slow down, connect with the historical art of handwriting, and leave with both a beautiful piece of artwork and a relaxing, rewarding new skill. Shri Rahul Radakrishnan, Project Associate in Science Communication & Outreach, IIST, served as the resource person for this programme.“𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞”- A workshop titled "Knovel and Engineering Village AI for Applied Engineering and Space Science” was organised on 19th November 2025. Shri. Vinesh Rajan from Elsevier was the resource person. This programme was designed to equip faculty and students with the skills to effectively utilise Knovel, a database providing verified engineering data and interactive tools, and Engineering Village, a comprehensive search platform enhanced with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to filter and retrieve relevant peer-reviewed literature quickly. The session provided practical, hands-on demonstrations, ensuring participants could maximise the potential of these databases to accelerate their research, solve complex engineering problems, and stay current with breakthroughs in both applied engineering and the rapidly evolving field of space science.“ 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧, 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐞”: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐤𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞"- Library hosted a training titled "Design, Create, Innovate: Training on Inkscape" on 20th November 2025, focusing on empowering users with skills in vector graphics editing. This program introduced participants to Inkscape, the powerful, free, and open-source software used for creating scalable graphics, illustrations, and professional designs. The workshop covered essential techniques, including designing logos, manipulating complex paths, working with layers, and preparing files for print or web use. Shri Rahul Radakrishnan, Project Associate in Science Communication & Outreach, IIST, handled the session. “ 𝐂𝐮𝐭, 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐥𝐮𝐞”: 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭"- A "Workshop on Paper Craft" was organised on 21st November 2025, which focused on transforming waste paper into beautiful artistic creations.
