An eight-member delegation from the University of Liège (ULiège), Belgium visited IIST during 30-31 October 2025. The delegation included Professor Jean Surdej (also Vajra adjunct Faculty at ARIES, Nainital), Professor Pierre Duysinx (Vice-Rector for International Relations), Ms Oriana Bertucci (Director of International Relations), Professor Serge Habraken (also Director of Scientific Projects at the Liège Space Centre), Professor Michaël De Becker (Astrophysicist), Professor Anthony Cioppa (specialist in AI, ML and computer vision), Christophe Grodent (Commercial Director of the Liège Space Centre), and Dr. Anna Pospieszalska. The primary objective of this visit was to broaden the scope of collaboration between the ULiège and IIST in both science and engineering. Over two days of intensive discussions between the visiting delegation and the Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members of IIST, several promising avenues for future collaboration were identified. These include potential joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, and co-supervised academic programs. The visit has laid a strong foundation for long-term partnership between the two institutions. The existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ULiège and IIST will be expanded in the near future to encompass these new areas of cooperation and to strengthen academic and research engagement.
