The annual sports meet for the academic year 2024-25 was conducted on 31 January 2025. The students participated in various sports events under the flags of five houses, namely; Akashganga, Devyani, Kritika, Saptarshi and Sharmista. The sports meet was inaugurated at 9.30 AM by the chief guest Mr. Shahansha M S IPS, Commandant Special Armed Police. Prof. Kuruvilla Joseph (Registrar and Dean-Academics) welcomed the gathering. Prof.Dipankar Banerjee,Director,IIST delivered the presidential address.

The Art Gallery and Space Museum in the Interdisciplinary Block was inaugurated on 11th February 2025, by Prof. Dipankar Banerjee (Director,IIST), facilitated by Prof Kuruvilla Joseph (Registrar, IIST), the CMD, and the Humanities and Social Sciences Department . In the Space musuem there are 23 miniature space craft exhibits ranging from Aryabhata to Crew Module. The art gallery specializes in upcycled scrap installations and also paintings by famous artists like Shri. Marthandom Shri. Rajashelharan and Shri. Kannan Chitralaya.

The team included Prof. Dipankar Banerjee, Director, IIST, who was the President of ASI, Prof. Sarita Vig, who is the Secretary of ASI, Prof. Umesh Kadhane – invited Plenary speaker and a number of PhD, Masters and undergraduate students. Prof Dipankar Banerjee delivered the Presidential address. Prof. Sarita Vig carried out the proceedings of the Inaugural and Concluding sessions as well as chaired the session on ASI Awards talks.
