The Department of Physics is dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of Applied & Adaptive Optics, Solid State Physics, Statistical Physics & Nonlinear Dynamics, Atomic & Molecular Physics, Quantum Optics, Quantum Information & Quantum Technologies. With this expertise, the department is progressing towards establishing a centre for excellence in Quantum Technologies.

The Department of Mathematics offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level for Aerospace, Avionics and Engineering physics branches.
