IIST held its 13th Convocation Ceremony on 10th August 2025 at the Pearl Jubilee Auditorium, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Valiamala. Prof. Suman Chakraborty, Director, IIT Kharagpur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation Address. The event was presided over by Padma Bhushan Dr. B.N. Suresh, Chancellor of IIST. Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman, ISRO, and President of the IIST Governing Body, addressed the graduating students through a recorded video. Prof. Dipankar Banerjee noted key milestones over the past year and highlighted IIST’s participation in experiments aboard the International Space Station. Shri M. Mohan, Director, LPSC, offered felicitations as the Guest of Honour.

A total of 309 degrees were conferred this year—124 B.Tech, 17 Dual Degrees, 130 Postgraduate Degrees, and 38 Ph.D., raising IIST’s cumulative tally to 1,870 undergraduates, of whom 1,417 alumni have gone on to contribute to landmark ISRO projects. 

The Pro Vice-Chancellor of IIST, Prof. Kuruvilla Joseph, along with the Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty, and staff members, joined the gathering to celebrate the institute’s proud milestone.
